History

One of the most reliable and well established International Shipbroking Houses, GOLDEN DESTINY provides personalised and value added services to its worldwide clients and correspondents.

GOLDEN DESTINY was founded in 1994 as an independent Shipbroking entity by Michail D. Kokkinis, a well known shipbroker with a global reputation, former President of the Hellenic Shipbrokers Association, and, since 1993 Honorary Consul of Poland.

From its contemporary offices on the famous Akti Miaouli, GOLDEN DESTINY renders comprehensive Shipbroking services in all fields of Sale and Purchase, Marine Insurance, Shipping Consulting and Ships’ Valuations. The company’s commitment to quality was confirmed in 1998, when GOLDEN DESTINY became the first Shipbroking entity in Piraeus to be certified with ISO 9002. Whilst now the company operates under the updated ISO 9001:2015 standard certified by Bureau Veritas.

In 2006, following almost two years of market research, and in order to further expand its existing services to its clients, GOLDEN DESTINY established a division specializing in Marine Insurance Broking and Consulting covering all marine risks and offering reliable and competitive services.

In 2009, GOLDEN DESTINY received the “SHIPBROKER OF THE YEAR” award at Lloyds List Greek Shipping Awards.

In 2011, GOLDEN DESTINY expanded internationally and established an office in Istanbul, which after 4 successful years has further enriched the Company’s activities and contacts in the wider region.

GOLDEN DESTINY from its establishment became a BIMCO member and its brokers are members of the Hellenic Shipbrokers Association. Furthermore, the company is a member of the Hellenic-Chinese chamber of Commerce and Industry as well as the Greek-Latin American Business Council.
